My Bio
****Feb 2012 update****

Will start uploading some sketches from my notebook, mostly from Riven Phoenix's The Structure of Man training course. The comment function on each piece has been disabled, but if you happen to have any questions or comments, just contact me on this page. Thanks! :D

**********************
Personal Milestones:

02-18-2012: Started the section on head musculature (lesson 75).
02-17-2012: Finished Lesson 19 (ending of the human skull portion).
01-20-2012: Restarted The Structure of Man from Lesson 1.

**********************
Currently studying human anatomy.
Interested mostly in learning to do realistic portraits, as well as stylized dynamic figure drawing. No color for me at this point in my training...

Sources of Instruction:

1) Riven Phoenix: The Structure of Man Training Course DVD (revised HD edition) (www.alienthink.com/)
2) DrawingTutorialsOnline with Matt Archambault (www.drawing-tutorials-online.c…)
3) Pose Maniacs (www.posemaniacs.com/)

Main Books for Inspiration and Guidance:

1) Andrew Loomis "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth"
2) Andrew Loomis "The Head"
3) Bert Dodson "Keys to Drawing"

My lovely instruments of choice:

1) Drawing medium:
Derwent Graphic pencil, 4B (I misplaced my 2B and 3B...)
Will try Prismacolor's Colo-erase pencils soon.

2) Notebook:
I make my own. (to customize to my liking)
+ coiled binding (to allow for flipping pages 360 degrees;
I bought a coiled binding machine for this purpose)
+ 50 sheets of 30lb paper (each paper is sturdy, and notebook itself is not too bulky; also means my coils don't need to be too big, which makes sure the coils don't get in my hands' way.)
Will also try Canson Drawing (dessin) pad, Foundation series, for life and gesture drawings.

3) Scanner: Cannon LiDE 110 (~$60 on amazon: cheap and reliable)

So, to keep the momentum going: I created the RivenPhoenixTSoM group this morning! It's a grand new group of ONE at the moment, but hopefully I will get a couple more people to join...  XD It's a bit weird that I will be the only person submitting to the group for now...//// But all's good.

I'm done with Lesson 19, which is the last lesson on the human skull.   Hooray!  XD Will be uploading my drawings from a lesson or two soon. ...but now what? Well. I'm actually SKIPPING to lesson 75, which deals with the musculature of the human skull. ...I know, maybe this is not advisable, but my main interest at this point is drawing the human head, so here goes. Also: I'm seriously thinking about starting a Deviant Group of Riven Phoenix/ The Structure of Man. It seems that there are a couple of people who've used or are currently using this course material to improve their drawing. It would be cool to get a "support group" goin
